CMIS v5.0 Released

1 Oct 09

Astech is pleased to announce the release of the latest version of CMIS, the flexible democratic management solution.

Astech acquired CMIS from Enline in late 2008. Since then the expanded development team have been working hard on a series of major new features and improvements to the already popular CMIS range. This next generation tool-kit now maps directly onto existing business model saving public sector organisations time, money and resource whilst ensuring the highest levels of consistency of output and accessibility for users.

Key enhancements with the latest release include:

Fully modular architecture

Organisations can select and implement the exact structure that they require to meet their business objectives. Additional complementary modules can be developed and bolted easily into the CMIS framework.

New, powerful workflow engine

CMIS v5.0 is underpinned by a separate, flexible and powerful workflow engine. This allows workflows to be developed to precisely match the business processes of each organisation without undermining the integrity of the application.

Underpinned by latest technologies

CMIS version 5.0 has been developed to take advantage of the latest advances in technology. Built on the Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 and Windows Workflow Foundation, CMIS v5.0 also harnesses the benefits of an N-Tier architecture. As an entirely web-based application, CMIS v5.0 complies with the latest web and accessibility standards to ensure that the information is available to the widest possible audience.

Separation of application and presentation layers

With CMIS v5.0 the presentation layer is completely separate from the application layer. Sites using CMIS can be easily re-branded and changes and updates to application functionality do not result in the style changes having to be re-applied each time. The new web services toolkit enables CMIS data to be seamlessly integrated with other systems and websites.
